Grant Presents Contribution to St. Jude Children's Hospital

March 29, 2018

As part of our Grant Gives program, Grant Team members were thrilled to tour St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital this week and present a contribution in honor of our own Houston Hall.

Houston is the son of Shane and Haley Hall of Arlington, TN.  Shane is a long time Grant building superintendent who has been responsible for building hundreds of homes in the Memphis and North MS areas.  Houston was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last fall and has been receiving treatments at St. Jude.

Late last year, Martha Fondren, Director of Sales & Marketing challenged the sales team to Sell Homes for Houston with the company contributing money to St. Jude in honor of Houston for every home sold before the end of the year.  Sales team members not only accepted that challenge, but stepped up to match the company’s contribution.  Building and selling new homes in 12 neighborhoods across the Mid-South area takes an entire team of professionals – from production to accounting to construction to sales – to achieve the lofty goal set for the Grant team.

We are blessed to be able to give back to our community with donations to such things as St. Jude," said Keith Grant.  "I believe we all came away from that experience with a blessing and plans to try to do more for this amazing hospital."

By Dec. 31, 2017, the company had not only met the sales goal but exceeded it, making the donation to St. Jude even more than planned.  Donning gray "Hurricane Houston" t-shirts, the Grant team was given a tour of the hospital by St. Jude representatives after presenting the "big check" to Paul Head, St. Philanthropic Advisor for the hospital.

"I am very proud of our team," said Grant.  "They all worked hard to reach their goals and were able to help sick children in the process."

Everyone I have interacted with during this process has been highly profession and went above and beyond to make I got the information/assistance I needed. The quality the construction is also outstanding.
