Land Development Superintendent

Grant & Company is seeking a highly capable Land Development Superintendent to oversee the successful execution of our land development projects. This role ensures each community is developed according to approved plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules—directly contributing to the overall financial health of the company.


About the Role:
The Land Development Superintendent provides daily oversight of all site construction activities, ensuring contractors, utility providers, and consultants perform work according to approved plans and regulatory requirements. This position requires a detail oriented, proactive leader who thrives in the field, maintains strong relationships with governing agencies, and consistently upholds Grant & Company’s values and standards.


Key responsibilities
•Uphold and represent Grant & Company’s values and standards in all field operations.
•Direct all land development construction according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and local/state regulations.
•Obtain and manage all documentation required for utility installation, including inspections, site condition acceptance, and coordination with water, electricity, gas, and other providers.
•Coordinate and document all inspections, punch lists, reinspection, and governmental approvals needed for project progression and acceptance.
•Review and accept all project plans, schedules, procedures, and budgets prior to construction.
•Identify deficiencies, direct corrective actions, and issue stop work orders, change orders, or construction directives when necessary.
•Ensure all erosion control measures comply with government regulations and approvals.
•Maintain and submit all permits, inspections, photos, and project documentation to the land development office.
•Provide daily oversight of contractors to ensure work aligns with plans and schedules.
•Maintain strong working relationships with municipal agencies, state departments, engineers, surveyors, and utility companies.
•Review and update project schedules weekly; monitor progress through completion.
•Document and resolve punch list and warranty items promptly.

What You Bring
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
•Ability to learn to interpret and utilize construction documents, surveys, and technical reports.
•Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
•Excellent problem solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
•Effective leadership skills with the ability to hold contractors accountable.
•Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
•Self-motivated, detail oriented, and capable of working independently in the field.
