Grant & Company has HOUZZ

July 10, 2013

Grant & Company shoppers can now see pictures of homes built in all Grant neighborhoods on the popular home and landscaping website, Houzz.houzz_1x

Houzz is a web site and online community about architecture, interior design and decorating, landscape design and home improvement. The Houzz platform and mobile appsfeature interior and exterior home photos, articles written by architects, interior designers and home design experts, product recommendations, and a user forum. The company was founded in 2009 and is based in Palo Alto, California

As of October 2012, the Houzz database contained more than one-million photos of residential interior, exterior and landscape photos. Users browse photos by room, style and location, upload their photography, and bookmark photos in personal collections the site calls “ideabooks.” Also by October 2012, more than 4.7 million user ideabooks had been created. Users can click on an image to learn more about the designer, ask a question, and learn about products tagged in the photos.

Houzz has a directory of 1.5 million home improvement professionals and home builders who use the site to connect with homeowners and those in the market for a new home.

CNN named Houzz “App of the Week,” calling it "The Wikipedia of interior and exterior design sites".  The magazine Real Simple called Houzz "the online equivalent of clipping décor images from magazines; Bloomberg Businessweek called Houzz "An online antidote to the housing bust."  Architectural Digest wrote, "This app will stoke your imagination."   TechCrunch wrote, "Houzz appears to be a decent idea that's been executed well."   The Mercury News wrote, "You'll find a nearly endless portfolio of excellent ideas for your swipe file there that you and your architect can both contribute to and comment on."

We just think it is a lot of fun.  The Grant Houzz includes a “project” page for each of the Grant neighborhoods including Kensington, Brunswick Farms, Rivercrest, Montrose, Cherokee, Forest Hill, Maplebrook, Trinity Park, Mitchell  and Gwin Farms.

Our builder was extremely helpful, and the team as a whole was upfront with communicating everything.
