Memphis is home to three Fortune 500 company headquarters: FedEx, AutoZone, and International Paper – which employ thousands of residents in Shelby County and DeSoto County and the surrounding areas. Most recently, this area welcomed Electrolux, which will bring between 1,500 and 2,000 jobs to its Memphis location in 2012. Other internationally known companies with bases in Memphis include  St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Methodist Health Care Systems, Baptist Memorial Healthcare, Smith & Nephew, Nike, Inc., UPS, and the Naval Support Base in Millington. Many of these companies transfer employees into this area during the last quarter of the year.
