DeSoto County Schools had something to cheer about when grades for Mississippi public schools were released Friday, scoring the first A rating in the local system’s history.
In addition to the system receiving an overall A, 16 schools within the system got the top A ranking. All of Grant and Company's new home neighborhoods in Olive Branch are located in a school district in Desoto County that received an A grade.
Ryan Kuykendall, director of accountability and research for DeSoto County Schools, said it was the largest number of schools to receive the top ranking under the state’s current accountability system, eclipsing last year’s 15 A-ranked schools. Read the whole story by clicking here.
