It is the busiest time of the year for Grant & Co. and the stay-at-home orders have not really changed that.

“We are pleased to say that 109 families have chosen a new home in a Grant neighborhood since Jan. 1,” according to Martha Fondren, Director of Sales and Marketing for Grant.

That’s not to say that it has been business as usual.  The Grant Sales Team is using virtual tours, videos, FaceTime, Zoom and other technology to get information to home buyers from right down the street to across the country.  Home buyers have taken advantage of all available tools to view homesites for presales as well as for touring finished homes to check out all the details. 

As an essential business, Grant has been able to allow a limited number of home buyers for model home tours by appointment while Grant sales agents follow all guidelines for safety and security.  

We have welcomed new neighbors from Ohio, Texas, Michigan and Alabama, some of whom have seen their new home for the first time at their Homeowner’s Orientation Tour before closing.

All purchase documents are executed online through DocuSign.  In most cases, closing attorneys are closing home loans curbside – in the home buyers’ vehicle.

Although using technology is convenient and safe at this time, it is far from a perfect process.Home buying is still an emotional and personal experience for families and it is difficult for some people not to be able to touch, feel and see flooring in some cases.

While it is definitely a different home buying experience right now, Grant and other home builders have learned that many of the tools we are using to make home buying more convenient for the buyer may be continued long after the COVID 19 pandemic is over.
