Rural Housing Loan Program to End Oct. 1, 2013
July 25, 2013
Homebuyers who plan on using the exclusive USDA Rural Housing Development program to purchase their new home need to make a decision quickly. Many areas in the Mid-South are being removed from the program’s eligible list on October 1, 2013.
Currently, Grant is offering available homes that qualify for this program and will be ready to move in by the deadline date. Grant homes are under construction in several neighborhoods in Arlington and Olive Branch that qualify for the $0 down program including Kensington Estates in Arlington; Forest Hill, Cherokee Golf Course Community, Trinity Park, Mitchell’s Corner and Maplebrook in Olive Branch.
Rural Development partners with approved local lenders to extend 100% financing opportunities to eligible rural individuals and families for the purchase of a new home. These guaranteed loans have assisted thousands of homeowners to purchase a home with affordable interest rates and loan terms.
Applicants must purchase a home within the eligible rural areas, and have a household income that does not exceed the established limits where the home is located. Traditionally, these loans have been offered to buyers in areas of the Mid-South that were deemed “rural.” However, based on the most current US census, the program is being eliminated in many areas of DeSoto County and Shelby County because of the population growth.
