Living inHernando, MS

Named as one of the Top Places to Raise a Family in Mississippi and Top Places to Buy a Home in Mississippi by Niche.com, Hernando is a great place to live, work and play.  Considered Mississippi's Front Porch, Hernando is located only 20 miles from Memphis, TN,  convenient to the Memphis International Airport, nationally renowned medical center, and the historical Memphis downtown entertainment center.  However, Hernando is a lifetime away from the big city with it's old town charm and small city lifestyle.

Hernando is the DeSoto County seat of government and home to the historic DeSoto County courthouse.  The courthouse square is home to the state's Best Farmer's Market from early spring until late fall, music concerts, movie nights, Christmas Open House, and the well known A'Fair on the Square festival in May each year.  A stroll around the square to visit the boutiques and restaurants is well worth a Saturday afternoon.

The Hernando Parks & Recreation Board works hard to provide summer sports and special events for adults, youth and the young at heart.  There are several parks - large and small - for those who love the outdoors.  For history bluffs, the DeSoto Museum showcases artifacts and exhibits featuring the history of DeSoto County from 1541 to present.

Families love Hernando for its great schools, safe streets and family friendly activities.  Live, work and play - it's all here in Hernando, MS

My wife loved the Design Studio and having the ability to choose every aspect of the design - not a "design package" as in our last home.
