Last Available Home in Sterling Place Awaiting New Homeowner
June 28, 2013
Finding a neighborhood that is legally zoned for the Active Adult 55+ crowd is pretty rare in the Mid-South and that’s what makesSTERLING PLACE such a gem among all the neighborhoods that are marketed for Active Adults.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is that Grant & Company just completed the very last home in this amazing Lakeland neighborhood of walking trails, lakes, green spaces and friendly neighbors. When Grant Sales Associate Sue Elzey hands the key to the homebuyer of this last home, construction in Shelby County’s only age restricted neighborhood will come to an end.
It has been a marvelous journey.
A car ride through Sterling Place is all it takes to see the true sense of community that has been created by the design of the neighborhood and the friendly, caring residents.
“The neighbors really do care about each other and look out for each other,” said Sue Elzey, Grant & Company Realtor Associate who has been selling Grant homes in Sterling Place for the past four years. “There are always people out walking, gathering at the gazebo, watching the ducks on one of the lakes, going on community outings or having coffee on back patios. Sterling Place is definitely not a “retirement” community; these people have busy, active lives. They are just not interested in spending their time cutting grass on the weekends.”
Individual lawn maintenance as well as the meticulous landscaping of the community’s park-like green spaces is included. All of the designs of the homes as well as the amenities of the neighborhood were created with the Active Adult 55+ homeowner in mind.
Sue says she has made some lasting friends during her time helping people find their perfect home in Sterling Place.
“I’m really going to miss being here in Sterling Place,” she said. “I know the people here and I have had such a wonderful time helping people find their place in this community. This is a perfect neighborhood for anyone who likes to get out and walk and get to know their neighbors– like an old fashioned neighborhood.”
